Circumvention – Wood Sculpture

Inspired Original Wood Sculpture by Jerry Ward

This wood sculpture – titled- “Circumvention” reflects on the lyrics of an old gospel song – “So high can’t get over it, so low can’t get under it, so wide can’t get around it” which speaks of dealing with an insurmountable obstacle. The song seeks means to search for another way other than conventional means resorting to the metaphysical as all else fails. Obstacles create nothing less than challenges and challenges in life shouldn’t be looked upon negatively. Challenges bring out the best of human nature. Life is about taking new pathways not continuously trudging the old. Discovery can be very rewarding. “Circumvention” is about finding new pathways and finding your way through the maze.
