The complete title for this piece is "Bad Day at Black Rock.", same as the title of the movie starring Spencer Tracy. I always liked the title more than the movie because of the mystery it evokes..
It only gives you the where?, while asking the who?, what?, when?, and why? The title pulls you in, you immediately want to know more. In the case of my sculpture, perhaps the first question your mind might ask is who? Is it a bad day for the bear or is it a bad day for some other creature.
