Bill Cosby has always been a inspiration to me in a somewhat utopian idealism with his portrayal of the black neighborhood through his animated kids in Fat Albert. The ideal that city neighborhoods could exist without the banes of society all to prevalent today, ie. poverty, racism, drugs, gangs, etc.. Mr.Cosby has given us a glimpse of a reality of what life could be without the strife that exists on city streets today. My sculpture " Cosby's Hood" is meant to capture the spirit of the consciousness engendered through the animated series. The sculpture represents the attributes essential to any thriving community, pride, dignity and compassion.
